It is that time of year again and I am not talking about the Holidays, unfortunately. I am talking about cold and flu season. This time of year can be really hard, especially with little kids. You Moms can probably relate to this. When I have sick kids and it is cold and snowy outside and I don’t want to take the kids out, I can start to feel like I am trapped inside my own cave. It can get hard. One thing that can help with your immune system is getting plenty of Vitamin C. I want to share this Cold Buster Smoothie that is loaded with Vitamin C as well as many other essential nutrients. We love this smoothie at our house. Both of my boys (1 and 3 years old) love this smoothie. Give this yummy smoothie a try and let me know how you like it. Here are some other yummy smoothies to try that are packed with great nutrients as well, Strawberry Banana Smoothie, Green Smoothie, and Super Fruit Smoothie.
Cold Buster Smoothie
Serving Size 1
– About 1/4 – 1/3 cup of each fruit
strawberries
kiwi
blueberries (mine were frozen)
raspberries
oranges or tangerines
banana (mine was frozen)
purple grapes
– about 1/2 cup orange juice (depends how thick you like your smoothie)
– Ice (I like to use some frozen fruit then I don’t use any ice)
Place all ingredients in a blender and blend together.
I use a individual serving size blender. You could easily double or triple and make in a regular size blender.
I also like to add 1 tsp of each Organic Chia Seed and Organic milled flax seed for added omega fatty acids.
I add chia seeds and milled flax seeds to a lot of my foods instead of supplementing my essential fatty acids.
What home remedies do you have for cold or flu?
